Since graduating from the University of Huddersfield, Rhiannon Thomas has been exhibiting in her home town of Cambridge as well as London. Using her training in loom and hand weave, she creates sculptures with the traditional techniques of basketry and brading. The craft work is displayed as art pieces with light and shadow playing an important role. Textures and colours guide the shapes which are based on botanical themes as are Rhiannon’s paintings. They are semi-abstract and also act as inspiration for her textile sculptures.
